Seriously Santorum? Just get out.
I can only hope that the beautiful state of Pennsylvania does not give Santorum this win. If Pennsylvania gives in to this craze, then I have no hope, because we couldn't even re-elect him when he ran for Senator of Pennsylvania in 2006. This would actually make me want to cry if he won again.

Santorum does not have a shot in Pennsylvania. Last time he tried to get elected he lost by 17% as an incumbent! And counting by delegates (not by percentage points Santorum is behind by) Romney is leaving his other candidates in the dust. Unfortunately Santorum is going to get blindsided by all of this, still foolishly believing he has a shot at the presidency.
ReplyDeleteThis Santorum guy really needs to give it a rest. Yeah, I guess he's getting some extremist support. But really, even if he manages to win the nomination, what would that do for the party? I really hope PA doesn't nominate him because it would not only give a bad portrayal of PA voters, but it would also lead to a Obama blowout in the upcoming election.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think that Santorum will win PA. The article that we read a couple months ago about PA comes to mind, about how we have to Alabama sandwiched by two cities. With this set up I feel that PA will not vote for a more extreme candidate, like Santorum.

ReplyDeleteWhen people hear Santorum they instantly think about his loss in 2006 and how 17% points are a certainly bigger than average number. I think Santorum's strategist is being a little optimistic about his optimistic towards winning the primary and winning a majority of the delegates. Santorum's ground right here..this is his turf but Romney is slowly tearing it all up. Nice fire at Santorum by Romney about how none of the member of the PA delegation who served with Santorum had endorsed him for president.
ReplyDeleteI think that Santorum will have a tough time winning in PA because of the fact that he was not reelected as a senator here. I think that PA is a Romney state so don't worry Jim I think you'll be okay.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that we're even having this conversation ("can Santorum win PA") is proof that is coalition is not nearly broad enough to win the primary. Wouldn't Santorum losing PA be like if Romney lost MA? Romney losing his "home state" was so unthinkable as to not even be a topic of discussion. If Santorum was a real candidate, he would win PA no problem. But he's not, so he won't.
ReplyDeletePeople really need to stop making a big deal about him not winning the Senate seat as an incumbent. Yes it was the biggest loss all time, but the voters in PA had an obvious negative reaction to President Bush, and Bob Casey has his last name that instantly got him votes. Not saying that he has a huge chance of winning PA, i dont think he does. I also dont think he's gonna win the nomination, and losing PA will show that. But i wouldnt say that he has no chance because of something that happened in 2006. Obviously no one cares if he's won so many primaries.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jake. I think it's ridiculous that we're even discussing whether or not Santorum will win PA. Everyone knows he has no shot at it. He's getting support from extremists, but I highly doubt that he'll get that kind of support from PA.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as Extremists usually operate on the fringes of society and are lower in number than the general populace, santorum's views aren't really reaching the highs he want's to hit. we're pretty bland here in PA, this just isn't going to happen.
ReplyDeleteSantorum is extreme, and that is a fact. I dont think that he has a shot in the general election, but he will definitely put pressure on Romney throughout the Republican primaries. I agree with Jake Day...Pennsylvania will be a very good indicator about how Santorum will fare throughout the rest of the election.
