NRA Faces New Political Challenges After School Shooting

  1. Having guns in bars? Oh yeah...that's the best plan ever...not. Who is that dumb to even suggest that? If anything, it should be the opposite way around. I feel that these pro-gun people should chill. Is it really the best time to bring up all these gun laws and stuff after there was a shooting in an elementary school that just killed innocent children? Oh yes, obviously it is the best time to suggest this...these people are just plain dumb.

  2. This just goes the to show the amazing amount of control that interest groups have over politics and legislation particularly. However, there are inevitably certain limits to what the NRA can do. Although according to the article, they have spent 10 times more on lobbying than every gun control group combined and $14 million to rally supporters against Obama, yet that obviously didn't work. This is also an example of how interest groups believe that investing money in a candidate is the most effective way they can influence political decisions, but recent history has shown that that is not always the case.
