Pakistan: This Could be a Problem

We're pretty sure that the Pakistani military was harboring Osama bin Laden, we know that they lied to us about this, and now a NATO-Afghan airstrike has occurred, details about which are hazy and contested, but that definately killed nearly two dozens Pakistanis. They were our enemies before, and now they're willing to show it. Pakistan has nuclear weaponry, and they seem nuts enough to use it if so inclined. How should this situation be handled?

  1. I agree with General Abbas saying proof should be presented if it was claimed firing was started from the Pakistani side. This is like a contagious "you're it" game. Perhaps having better controlled borders is always helpful considering the lack of it…It shall continue to grow more interesting as time progresses of the alleged accounts of what happened and what to believe. Wouldn't want to say the wrong thing about pakistan..#weaponsofmassdestruction

  2. I agree with Liam in saying that there needs to be proof of the situation and further investigation before anybody makes any assumptions or calls on the attack. We are in a tense situation with Pakistan to begin with and any false moves or accusations could strike something that could have been avoided if handled correctly and safely.

  3. No one should be going around making assumptions -like the ones that the American official pointed out “You hear what they’re saying, and they’re making it sound like we’re just bombing Pakistani military positions for the hell of it.” Assumptions can't be made, especially with situations regarding Pakistan because it could make relations worse at the drop of a dime.

  4. I'm going to be honest, the leaders of Pakistan just seem like jerks. They're making it seem like they know the whole story and that the relationship between the US and Pakistan will be turning worse. I didn't really see a good relationship in the first place, but if Pakistan really thinks that they can make assumptions, well when you make an assumption, you make an ass out of you and me, and these guys just want us to look bad, but they can't be sure yet.

  6. I agree with everyone that has commented so far in that the U.S must assess the situation fully before acting in any way. I think that U.S officials will try to take cautious steps in understanding the crisis before taking action in order to avoid anything resembling the Iraq War. I am not saying that the U.S should sit back and watch, but I am saying that we should be very careful in our approach.

  7. Well unfortunately the Middle East has some funky stuff going on again, and as usual the USA is involved. I hate to be that guy who basically says the same thing as the previous viewers but I agree with everyone on this. First, I agree with Liam, There needs to be proof of a situation in this case proof of a battle along the boarder of Pakistan. Second, i agree wtih Jake, The United States need's to be extremely careful with how they present themselves in this situation. We do not want to spark anymore controversy than there already is.

  8. I would rather the U.S. not get involved with the Middle East, but Pakistan is easily the shadiest country in the world. No one knows what is going on over there and all of these suspicious events take place there. I still believe that they knew that Bin Ladin was there (either that or they have the worst intelligence agency on the planet), and I think the U.S. needs to just have a meeting with their government and set them straight in a politically correct way, informing them that we would wreck them. #USA
