Gingrich is #dirty
Gingrich bet Romney $10 that he won't give back "all the money he's earned from bankrupting companies and laying off employees over his years at Bain". After an interview on Monday, Romney was criticizing Gingrich's "seven figure sum" he recieved from Freddie Mac. Romney accused Perry of misquoting him on his writings of healthcare, and offered him $10,00 that he was right. In response, Gingrich made light of this.

10 bucks…#thataboy. Gingrich doesn't seem afraid to take fires away at Romney about all the people he supposedly took jobs from. In this wonderful world of politics nobody can seem to keep their hands behind their back, they're always scavenging for more dirt on one another. #dirty If Romney agrees to discuss this matter, Gingrich is short 10 bucks. #youneverknow
ReplyDeleteNone of them are actually going to talk to each other. I'll bet both of their speaking fees are seven figures, so the $10,000 bet still isn't nearly enough. None of them have anything to gain by airing out all of their past financial improprieties, which makes me wonder why Romney even brought this up. He had to have known Gingrich would rebut with that. Now everybody is not only aware that Romney is financially unscrupulous, but also a hypocrite for chiding Gingrich for the same behavior.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, if Gingrich wanted to win the bet he'd bet his position on something, seeing as it's so easy to change that anyway. I don't see hour this is such a big deal anyway, 10 dollars to these guys is like 10 cents to me, i'd bet anyone a dime because it doesn't matter. Also even if one of these guys was to "win" this bet, the loser would never give the 10 dollars, and it would just cause more controversy.
ReplyDeleteThis whole thing was an act...obviously the money has nothing to due with the purpose of the proposed bet. I just think this whole thing is childish and humorous...it sounds like something my friends and I would do. I liked that Gringrich took a shot at Romney, I thought that was much deserved.
ReplyDeleteI think they're all wasting time with a stupid bet like this. The money means nothing and it's just a publicity stunt that isn't doing anything for them. I feel like any interaction they have with each other is just going to be immature stabs at each other.
ReplyDeleteWhile Romney has been falling behind in the polls for staying away from debates and interviews, Gingrich's popularity has soared among the republican candidates. Romney found it necessary to challenge Gingrich in order to get ahead in the polls, and unfortunately Romney did not gain anything from his actions. Romney is a candidate for the top one percent of America, and he is finding it difficult to win over the other 99%. He is not fighting for their rights and making this bet merely drew attention to it.
ReplyDeleteNewt just isnt electable. Not a chance could he win. Romney is the safe choice only because he refuses to take risks thus far and therefore hasnt messed up. The best stuff is yet to come, as we will actually see Romney maybe take some risks if elected to become the Republican Nominee. Newt is already to extreme to win the presidential election.
