North Korea Confirms It Conducted 3rd Nuclear Test

So North Korea made good on it's promises of conducting a third nuclear test. It is very scary that a country run by a man who conducts public execution on his people now has the capacity to create nuclear bombs. This news along with there recent "space program" show that they are close to developing all the tools needed to create a ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile). North Korea has a long list of enemy's and a very short list of allies, and with North Korea constantly going against China they may lose a superpower and a very powerful neighbor. It should be interesting to see how the Asian nations will react to this news and if action will finally be taken against North Korea. The intentions of the North Koreans is clear and is something that needs to be resolved soon. Also I will include a video released by North Korea from their government to the their people. The video has a translation and it sounds more like a cult then a official government statement (also note that they stole clips from many types of media).

  1. I think this is scary for the fact that the son is just as bad as his father. I was hoping that the son was not brain-washed, but he is sadly. As for North Korea and the bombs, that is scary enough. These people I feel are more dangerous than Iraq and have the ability to do so much more than Iraq. That, and the other problem with North Korea is that no one knows what goes on over there. It is so locked up that no media can get into the country. I am hoping that North Korea will not wage war because if they do, they will get their butts handed to them.

  2. A. North Korea makes the most borrrrring propaganda videos. Come on, guys. Add some life.

    B. North Korea is LITERALLY the craziest country out there with no sense of normalcy or sane-ness on the horizon. Can we just leave China to get angry with North Korea and just let them blow N. Korea off the face of the earth? Then we don't have to get involved.

  3. Wow-- Nora-- and you look so sweet... ;)

N.Korea has a crazy regime. Its people suffer more than most people in the world-- they face chronic malnutrition, no access to Internet or other sources of real information about the world, so they are stuck with a warped and false worldview promoted by the government. All the resources the country has are plowed into the military. Not a lot can be done to punish them further because they are already one of the most isolated and impoverished nations in the world. If China cut off oil exports to them... THAT would be the most effective new sanction. Unlikely.

  4. I'm not sure why they keep showing a space shuttle orbiting the earth over and over. I thought they were going to take over the world with nukes but the thing that keeps flying around is not a nuke as it has passenger windows and I'm not sure what good a space shuttle will do against anyone. Also, only 360p? I know they didn't upload this video but they made it and if they want to intimidate us, they can at least try to do it in HD. I can hardly tell what's even going on. I don't think their country will be able to become an actual problem the way it is now though. Societies whose people cannot afford food and electricity tend to not do very well. I suppose if they do get one nuke off that would be pretty bad, although they are trying to do it by attaching a small nuclear device to the end of a long range missile, which is easy to defend against.

  5. For people who aren't living right next to North Korea, we just see this as a pathetic attempt to scare us, but I think they're crazy enough to do some harm to their close enemies such as Japan and South Korea if we do nothing but monitor them. The only reason we can't do anything is that they have a very powerful ally in China who the United States already has a strange relationship with. But for now, if this is all the North Koreans are doing with their infinite power and wisdom, we'll be fine.

  6. North Korea is just pitful. I would hate to live somewhere where that was what passed for news and the only thing I could take pride in was a nuclear missile. Sure, they'll have an ICBM. What will that get them? Absolutely nothing. Any attempts at real aggression will be crushed in a heartbeat and they know it. China will not continue to back them up then. North Korea has killed thousands of its own people by diverting badly-needed resources toward its nuclear weapons program.

  7. I am at a loss of words of how stupid this action is by North Korea. Many nations of the world want to do something about the controversy they create, but are unable to take action due to their allies, such as China. However, now North Korea wants to tick of China as well? That is just dumb on their part. It is also frightening to think that a lunatic is in charge, because we will never know what he has in store.

  8. I only have one thing that comes to my mind...THEY'RE BONKERS! Seriously they basically just said we're going to destroy the world and claim victory. No just no...oh and my favorite part of this video you ask? You know that American City burning during the video? That is actually New York from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, an American developed video-game. Just a fail North Korea, that's all you are...

  9. It's incredibly saddening to know that this is it for some people's lives. Regardless of all of the issues we have at home, I cannot imagine what it is like to live in a place where you are told and know nothing other than things like that video. I just hope that the choices of North Korea do not have deadly outcomes.

  10. What is North Korea thinking? These people are just crazy. The conditions that the people of North Korea have to live in is just horrible to think about. What will North Korea got out of this? Absolutely Nothing. They know that what ever they attempt to do will immediately be shot down and yet they continue to do what they do.
