"The Philadelphia Horror"

Now Michelle Malkin is obviously conservative and the bias in the article is a little heavy, but here's a description pulled from the grand jury report on "The Philadelphia Horror":

“This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors. The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.”

Dr. Gosnell, who ran this clinic and performed these late term abortions for over 20 years is facing 43 charges (mostly murder). That something like this was noted by inspectors and still nothing was done until now is highly disturbing, and that this travesty has not been widely covered or has been diverted away from the issue of abortion and what counts as "life" (see TIME Report) is to me a sign of how the "SCLM" is not so much "so called" as actually liberal.

  1. Haha I was actually just about to post an article about this! If a tragedy involving guns calls for new legislation, then then this travesty of humanity should DEFINITELY call for new legislation regarding abortion. The sad part is, MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE IS. People these days....

  2. And by "people these days..." I'm talking about Gosnell.

  3. I think it is a shame that this man would endanger so many people. However, pro-life is not synonymous with pro-abortion. It is important to remember that pro-lifers usually are on that side of the issue because they believe the woman should make the choice. If there was illegal drug activity, clearly this was not the type of abortion practice that should be run. In order for any system to work, there needs to be a check on indecent business practices. I believe this one incident should not prohibit women from getting abortions, especially in the cases of rape and the mother's health.

    1. I agree that this one incident shouldn't prohibit women from getting abortions. This happened but just because someone is pro-life doesn't mean that they support abortions. Women should be able to make their own choices regarding themselves and their lives.

  4. My dad was telling me about this a few weeks ago. I am just surprised that this scandal is not more widely talked about and broadcasted on the news. I hope this man is given the proper punishment and this is prevented from happening in the future.

  5. I am also horrified, and surprised that I haven't heard about this already. What that man did was disgusting, but of course it doesn't reflect how all abortions are carried out. This kind of an incident is exactly why there are regulations required pertaining to how far along a woman can abort.
