Judge Throws Out Some Murder Charges Against Philadelphia Abortion Doctor

This article talks about how a doctor in the Philadelphia area aborted live fetus' when they should have been dead. "Eight workers at Dr. Gosnell’s clinic have pleaded guilty in the case, including three to third degree murder." Later in the article, the doctor said "Baby C"had a spasm after given a drug to kill it, so the judge dismissed that murder charge.

I feel that this is really brutal. If you are going to abort a fetus, please, make sure it is dead first. No organism deserves to go through slow and painful death, on top of getting it's head cut off like that. I also find it very rude/surprising that the doctor called the fetus "Baby C." The baby doesn't even have a name, nor is it a true baby yet, so don't call it one. I am in the middle when it comes to abortion, but I agree with the judges ruling on this case. I also agree with the last line of this article: "When the fetus leaves the mother, they are due the respect of any human being."

  1. This is a very macabre and disgusting trial. And Aubrey I don't think the doctor is voluntary calling the babies by letters. It's probably done to protect the identities of the babies and the mothers. The jars of severed feet in particular are very disturbing. I worry that this trial is too emotionally charged for an objective decision to be made over who is guilty

  2. There's really not much to say except for that's a travesty.

  3. I find it funny that some people claim that fetuses aren't even alive, yet how could have Gosnell killed them if they were never alive to begin with? This is such a travesty and I find it sickening that the judge was able to dismiss some of the charges. When you have a woman who died because of your actions, it'll show, and you deserve live in jail.

  4. I heard about this on the news. It's just revolting to think that this doctor could perform these forms of abortions, and on multiple occasions. I support a woman's right to choose to have an abortion, but to have one so late into a pregnancy? There is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

  5. The idea of abortion is tragic enough but this occurrence is disgusting. This doctors actions are repulsive. Those fetuses are babies the second he/she is conceived.

  6. I don't think that the judge should have dismissed any of the charges. The guy committed the crimes, he should have to deal with the consequences. While people have differing views on abortion, I think everyone can agree that a baby doesn't deserve to be killed like that even if they are born alive.

  7. Abortion is a very controversial subject within the US. If it is going to happen then I believe that there should be no pain involved and it should be done within the right period of time legally. Fetus' are still alove and they don't deserve to be tortured.
