I chose this article because it provides more up-to-date information on the event of the Boston Marathon bombing. Suspect Ozhokar Tsarnaev was charged Monday for the use of a weapon of mass destruction and wreckage which we all know resulted in death. Although Tsarnaev's first court appearance was from his hospital bed, I think most can agree that there should be no pity for this dreadful boy (19-years-old). The article is accompanied by the document of the federal charges against Dzhokar Tsarnaev, which I found to be very interesting and I recommend taking a look at it. It includes every slight detail of the event and the observations from cameras, which is certainly important when looking at the evidence. It is relieving to know that Obama's promise that the bombers will face justice is being fulfilled.

First of all, thanks Kate for posting this; it's good to have more up to date information. I hope that the government continues investigating and brings justice upon the terrorists.
ReplyDeleteNo pity should be given to the bombers. I heard on the radio today, that their father will being for the trial, but their mother will not because there is a warrant for her arrest. I have that the government will bring justice upon the terrorists.
ReplyDeleteI think Tsarnaev should be given the death penalty once he is interrogated to the fullest extent to see if he went through any training camps (as speculated) while he was outside of the country, or if he knows of any similar planned plots.
ReplyDeleteThere should be no pity given for this 19 year old. I hope that his sentence brings justice and some level of comfort to the families of the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Grace. We need to take no pity to this monster and interrogate him until he speaks and kill him after he does. We need to show that we are a strong nation and can get through this. Plus, I really don't want my tax dollars going towards this nut job.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is a controversial topic I too believe he should be killed. As Sam said he is not worth the money he will cost i prison.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would love to agree with the death penalty, I thought that wasn't allowed anymore because that is "wrong" and torturing is not allowed. If that is true, I have no idea what we should do. Obviously, locking him up in prison isn't good and making him do community service is just stupid. I am happy that they were caught, but as for how they are going to penalize him, I would think the death penalty would be best. We don't need people like him in our country or the world for that matter.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what was said above; this man should receive no pity. Once fully interrogated, he should be given the death penalty. I wouldn't want tax dollars going towards paying for his time in prison, and I also wouldn't want the rest of the world to see America to be weak in not giving this man what he deserves.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that he should be given the death penalty although I feel it is necessary to point out that this would not be a cost saving measure because with all involved legal fees and such it is in almost all cases significantly more expensive to give someone the death penalty rather than life in prison
ReplyDeleteI also agree that he should be given the death penalty. I agree with Lauren's point about our tax dollars going towards him in prison. Those were his actions and now he needs to take the consequences for them.
ReplyDeleteOften, I am not an advocate for the death penalty but if anyone deserves it, it is this awful kid. He ruined the lives of many and doesn't deserve the chance to rot in prison. He doesn't deserve a roof over his head, a bed to sleep in and food every day.
ReplyDeleteIf the death penalty is just as expensive as keeping this kid in jail, I'm not sure what I support. Obviously I think the bombing and resulting death was terrible, and he deserves to be questioned and imprisoned for the rest of his life. I want him to pay, so I guess it depends on the type of imprisonment he would get. Sometimes death is the easier way out.
ReplyDeleteMan, you guys are tough!
