Playing ball with old Rival

Playing Ball with an old Rival

I think that Obama using Clinton is going to pay off. He is playing ball with someone he used to go against. This shows that he is willing to work with anyone in order to get the job at hand done. This is a good sign to the American people that even in a split Washington our President is willing to work with whoever he can to get the job done.

  1. I think Obama getting help from any former president is a great luxury but getting advice from a more current president who is also in the same political party is even better. Clinton, is well known for being one of the great presidents in our nation's history, along with establishing a balanced budget and leaving office with a surplus In our economy. Now that the people see Obama's and Clinton's relationship I think it will give the citizens for confidence in Obama to fix our economic struggles.

  2. People helping each other out. Maybe Hillary will get some support from Mr. Obama should he win re-election…eh? I think this can definitely hurt Romney in that, Clinton and Obama are going to double team things up big time. Clinton published a book incorporating how to fix some things and hey now he can shove it all down Obama's throat. An ex president definitely has some experience to share...

  3. Of course Clinton is helping Obama, they're both democrats. I'm sure Romney is getting help from all sorts of republicans. Obviously the advice of a former president is valuable, but it's expected from Clinton because no democrat wants a republican president. I don't think this will make a huge difference in the long run when it comes to gaining voters because Obama already had great control of the democratic party. So, although this is good for Obama, I don't think it's an election changing story.

    1. I agree with this guy. This is pretty much a basic move. It's common courtesy. It really isnt a big deal, and only would be if Clinton didnt support Obama. Theres no reason Obama wouldnt get the support of Clinton considering theyre both Democrat.

I don't think Obama will make a huge difference in the long run because I'm sure Obama isn't the only one getting help...As Alex said, I'm sure Romney is getting help from Republicans, just like Obama is democrats. Yeah sure, Clinton may be able to help, but I don't think it's going to help him drastically.

  5. In response to a few of the comments posted above, a TIME article was posted around a month ago that displayed the connection of past and current presidents to one another, and regardless of party, they all were leaders for the same reason: to see the nation thrive.

Obama's partnership with Clinton is not so much party based as it is effectiveness; looking back on the Clinton era, in terms of debt and national dependency on loans we were actually in a surplus of money left over...something was being done right.

  6. Clinton was one of the few presidents with a surplus during his time as president. Getting support from Clinton can only help Obama, especially when dealing with deficit and economic issues.

  7. As Graham and Garrett said, it's definitely just a typical political move-- supporting your party's candidate. So this isn't really a huge deal. However, as Joe points out, it's definitely a good idea to get Clinton's backing, especially considering his success in the 90's.

  8. Clinton is a great guy. I would try and get him to back me too if i were president. They are friends and fellow democrats. Bill supporting Obama doesn't surprise me, especially since i get emails from barack all the time about dinners with him George Clooney and Bill Clinton. This is not news to me that Clinton likes Obama.
