Obama Defends Progress Against Extremists

Obama has made much progress towards defeating ISIS, something both liberals and conservatives can rally around. Even though some conservatives say he hasn't gone far enough, Obama maintains that the way he has been handling this situation is for the best, and will ultimately pay off with the decisive defeat of ISIS and its affiliates, as well as other terror groups such as the Khorason group, all across the globe.

  1. I'm glad Obama has been putting a strong effort into stopping ISIS; this is definitely a decision both republicans and democrats can agree upon. He's handling the issue in a very pressing manner, which is the best approach. Yes, it will take some time, but I believe America can bring an end to this if the persistent efforts continue.

  2. It's great to hear about the progress made in the effort to stop ISIS. Stopping them is definitely not something that can happen overnight, but I agree with Rachel that if efforts continue we can put a stop to ISIS.

  3. I never underestimate the power of optimism. I like Obama's positive outlook on this. By going to the very individuals who are making the change and serving our country, he is showing how much he values them. This is a great step forward.

  4. I think the way Obama is handling this is excellent. He's handling this very seriously, but also rationally. I agree with Antonella's comment that this is a great step forward.

  5. I really appreciate Obama's frequent use of the phrase "our coalition." Putting heat on ISIL is definitely the right decision. But, we cannot do it alone. By talking with members of NATO and forming coalitions with nations such as Great Britain, Obama has put America in a position to fight the enemy with help instead of putting the burden of the conflict solely on America's shoulders.

  6. ISIS needs to be defeated, there's no question about that. And though we'd like to see it happen overnight, that just isn't going to be the case. I'm glad that Obama has been making progress and is continuing to handle the situation in a rational way. Maintaing a positive outlook is key.

  7. I am happy to hear about how Obama is taking control of the ISIS problem. He is taking many steps in the right direction to destroy the terrorist organizations. He is putting the values of our country and its people first which is very settling.

  8. ISIS is a problem that needs to be addressed. It is good to hear that Obama is optimistic about the American-led coalition's efforts against them and that he is thanking those involved in this effort. It shows his commitment to tackling this problem before it can spiral out of control.

  9. Like everyone else on this blog, I am happy to hear that Obama has made good progress in defeating this threatening terrorist organization. It is something that everyone in America should be happy about. However, one quote from Mr. Obama concerned me. He said, "This campaign in Iraq is going to take time, but make no mistake, our coalition isn't going just to degrade this barbarous terrorist organization, we're going to destroy it." This is a great goal that will benefit not only America, but the entire world. Let's just hope that the amount of time needed to achieve this goal does not stretch on for too long. We all still have bad memories from Iraq and Al-Qaeda.
